There are three different major types of volcanoes around the world. Stratovolcanoes, Cinder Cone volcanoes and Shield volcanoes come in different shapes and sizes. Can you describe which type of volcano is the largest type on Earth? Describe why these volcanoes are called “Island Builders”.

Welcome back to what is sure to be another exciting school year at Swansfield Elementary School. This year in Technology class students will continue to learn the 21st century skills needed to succeed in today’s world.  Technology literacy is defined as

“…the ability of an individual, working independently and with others, to responsibly, appropriately and effectively use technology tools to access, manage, integrate, evaluate, create and communicate information.”

This is what the students continuously work toward during their weekly technology classes. This year students will be introduced to various Web 2.0 applications that can be used in school and at home. The ultimate goal is to give students the opportunity to extend their learning and engage in technology supported activities outside of their regular school day.
